you wouldn't be complaining if arsenal had scored that goal?
is it also 'italian team lost, blame ref... yawn?'
i didn't care about the result of either match but both were pretty shocking referring. especially the klose winner.
But, seriously, the refereeing in Bayern - Fiorentina was ten times worse.
Originally posted by Palynkayeah i thought it was a pen also. the ref was terrible in the winning goal, just terrible imo. he gets the ball off the keeper, hands it to the porto player... looks away, turns around and sees that they've taken in already and then raises his arm (indirect free-kick the ref is supposed to raise his arm before its taken and bring it down when a second player has touched the ball...) he didn't have a clue what was going on and shouldn't have allowed the goal. saying that kursty should've kicked the ball away or something to allow the arsenal players to get back, who were pretty slow in doing so.

a bad referee who will no doubt make a mistake in south africa. ref in the utd/milan match was also awful.
Originally posted by PalynkaIt's awful that two such good teams can play so badly. Resultwise I guess Arsenal is looking to good. They only need to score one goal at home.
It was entertaining but awful in terms of football played. We played miserably (apart from the first 10 minutes) and were lucky that Arsenal was not only equally miserable but had a circus act in goal. Too much space, yet full of passing errors. Teams were spread out across the whole field (0 offsides!) and tactics were out of the window.
Strange game, but 3 weeks is enough time for both teams to get their acts reasonably together.

the standard of referring globally is quite poor. there's just too much money involved in the game to allow human error as a factor... look at ireland, ref or assistant ref sees henry's hand ball, it goes to pens and ireland win. mega bucks for the irish fa and economy.
it really is a joke, klose was a metre offside.. how he didn't see that is beyond me. ...[text shortened]... ow much longer does injustices like this have to occur before fifa brings in technology aids?
I'm sure a new mangement is needed before any change will happen.

Well, I like him. He's got character, he defends his players (most of the time), and is an excellent coach. You only need to hire him, if you want to win your national league. 🙂
Besides Ferguson is much harder on the refs.
Originally posted by PalynkaI never liked Anders Frisk, although, he was an ok ref.

When I think of good refs it's someone like Kim Milton, Bo Karlsson or Peter Mikkelsen. Well, and Pier-Luigi Collina, but he's not Scandinavian.
