Well, Shortwearer, I haven't seen any throw-ins in football that weren't thrown, either. Gosh wow.

But, as I said, and as you know very well, most of the time, football players still use their feet, and most of the time, gridiron players still use their hands.

Not every NHL player gets Paton Manning contracts either...
Ummmm it's NFL, and it is Peyton Manning.

But as far as contracts go, Alex Rodriguez received 250 million for 10 years in baseball.

They are watchable as long as you can sit through all of the adverts. I treat myself to the superbowl one a year but I've got better things to do than sit around for hours for less than 60 mins of actual playing time

Whatever dude, I don't really follow those boring sports, so the odd typo will slip in.

Some of hose guys get crazy money - much more than the cricket and rugby players. Like I said, here it's much more about the prestige of getting national colours.

If presented the opportunity to make a ton of money in exchange for their national prestige,
do you think that many, if not most, would jump at the opportunity?

We have seen it with Pele', with David Beckham and several others in soccer.

The many of the best hockey players come to the NHL.

There would be an exodus in cricket and rugby too, if those sports were played here.

So, perhaps they play for prestige, because that is the best they can get.

Obviously it would happen. What's your point?

Well, yeah.

But then hockey, basketball and tennis would also have to be counted as "football". They, too, are played with a ball, by people who run about on their feet. So that criterium doesn't really work, does it?

My point is playing for the colors doesn't pay the bills (in most countries).

Depends on what you consider 'paying the bills'.

Most professional players here get paid decent money, ie. more than you or I make in a year, combined.
