Sorry to keep doing this, but how can you invest so much time and mental energy into watching a game wherein it's almost impossible to score in a big game?

Because to score is a part of the game.

To run, to kick, to scream, to smile, to cry, to have emotions... and it's another part of the game. Football is more complex than only watching a game...

Does it bother you that 12% of your chess games have ended in a draw?

And do you understand that - more so than in chess - the middle game in a football match is very important?
