Adhiban Baskaran, commonly known as Adhiban B., is an Indian chess grandmaster born on August 15, 1992 in Tamil Nadu, India.
Adhiban B. was introduced to the world of chess at the age of five. Through various local, national, and international chess competitions, he exhibited a natural talent for the strategic and logical game. His early victories included championships at the 2006 Asian Under-16 championship and 2008 World Under-16 championship.
He was awarded the title of Grandmaster on November 24, 2010 by the International Chess Federation (FIDE). Adhiban has also represented India at the Chess Olympiad multiple times, including helping win the bronze medal at the 41st Chess Olympiad in 2014.
The chess grandmaster has participated and performed well in numerous tournaments. In 2019, he won the national premier championship and emerged as champion at the Abu Dhabi Master tournament. Notable achievements also include winning the Reykjavik Open in 2018 and the Tata Steel Challengers in 2016.
Adhiban B. is known for his attacking style of play and he is one of the top-ranked chess players in India.
