i was introduced to chess when i was about six. i lost every single game i ever played until i turned twelve and even then i only won against very weak players. but i play chess for the narrative joy it brings, i love the stories of the members of the game. and for a competitive (and somewhat narcissistic person) i'm even okay with losing.
