Header photo is HMS Alliance, a Royal Navy Amphion class submarine completed in 1947. The submarine is the only surviving example of the class, having been a memorial and museum ship in dry dock at the Royal Navy Submarine Museum in Portsmouth, England since 1981. My father served on her (and other subs) for 11 years as a Chief PO in the 1950s and 60s. I was privileged to take him on a tour of Alliance a few years before he passed.
