John Coulter

I’m an 85 year old retired airline computer professional living on a hilltop near Charleston, West Virginia, named for Charles Clendenin, my ancestor who emigrated from Scotland.

Starting at age 19, I played chess extensively for about 10 years and introduced my two sons to the game when they were very young. I resumed playing again in early 2009 after seeing my son, KCCooter, play on this site. My other son, VWMan, also plays on this site.

I play golf, read, go to music concerts, do some gardening, and watch the birds during the day and the sky at night.

I also travel, having been to Austria, Denmark, England, France, Germany, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Malawi, Scotland, South Africa, Slovakia, Spain, The Czech Republic, The Netherlands, Zambia, a few Caribbean islands and many locations in the United States.
