I've played chess off and on for 13 years or so. And by off I mean I can easily go 1-2 years without playing. And by on I mean I will play 5-10 games against a computer, and go back into hibernation. I'm hoping to use this site to start playing more consistently, and to play against a variety of skill levels to better understand the game.


I prefer games with 1 day timeout, but with some timebank to encourage keeping the tempo up, but still allowing flexibility for those days where my job and life just don't let me put any time into chess. Some days and evenings I'll be able to make multiple moves, but generally I'll move in the evenings.

PS> I will claim timeout wins with repeated failures to move on time if it seems pretty obvious that I am winning. If I am losing, I would only claim a timeout win after extreme failure to comply with time limits. Alternatively, make sure to let me know if you'll be out of town and we can resume when you return.
