Update 19/11/25:

The '75' in my nickname was my age when I invented it. Time has moved on, so I am now 80 and a widower. Being retired and living in a "family of one" gives me the opportunity to concentrate my energies on my main hobby, today, which is writing. My current project is a novel.

The script of my novel is divided into episodes, designed to fit into the messaging system on this site. So readers can play chess against me at the same time.

I was first taught to play chess in 1952 - 73 years ago - by my grandfather. I began playing correspondence chess - CC - ten years later, in 1962. For most of my life I have played both OTB and CC.

Nowadays, I only play for fun.

I am always interested to play opponents from other countries, anywhere in the world, who enjoy communication, since chess is a cross-cultural activity.

Communication is important to me; so "silent" games (without any messaging) are of little interest nowadays.
