Have been playing many years though never got better than being a strong social player, I have not played in clubs long enough. The c ouple of times I was I was beaten so soundly and frequently I became demoralised despite beating the club champion in a simul. He was playing 20 games in that simul I do not count it as a great achievement. He used birds opening against me, I had never seen it before and thought it was a weak opening, had to work hard to beat him though. Since then found it is a standard opening so decided to look in to it more. Many of you will see I use it very frequently now. Played on Stan's for about 15 years and thought time for a change of scenery, only have the occassional game going there, same nick name if you want to get an idea of my games or challenge me there.
