Like my hero Raymond Keene, I shy away from 1.e4, and prefer to play hyper-modern openings such as the Reti, or the simple and classical 1.d4. I love to play and study the game, and I think that a complex endgame is more thrilling than a crushing middle game combination. When most people begin to lose interest in the game, is when I become most fascinated by the complexity of chess. I play in the village chess shop in new york city often, and the greenpoint chess club in brooklyn.
