IM

IM stands for International Master, which is a title awarded by the International Chess Federation (FIDE) to highly skilled chess players. It is one step below the highest level, which is the title of Grandmaster. To achieve this honor, players must attain a certain number of IM norms, gained from performances at strong international tournaments.
