The vast majority of games that were previously reported as having a broken move history have now been restored.
There are some further games which were active over the weekend that we hope to repair later today, but some others that had many moves made during this period :
2009-12-06 04:02:09 - 2009-12-07 03:00:00
will not be repaired. As things stand now, we are anticipating that a statistically almost insignificant number of games will remain affected. (Yes, I know, not insignificant if it is your game and you want to export it&hellip๐
Further, and with luck, final, update later.

just going back to my previous question which remains unanswered, if when an outage occurs, why can't time stop to keep the playing field even? forget all the glib nonsense, this is a question for Russ....u/t
Originally posted by theundertakerSome players may only be able to play at certain times, say only at work.If the outage was say Friday pm when they usually make their last moves before the weekend break restarting the clock after a few hours would be costly if they are then offline until Monday.I think they are trying to find a fair way for all.

Originally posted by RussI think I have 1 game with 1 move missing that is still unfixed.
Most games have now been repaired, but if the game has more than 2 moves within the 24hour period shown above, I'm sorry to say that the game will not be fixed.
Game 6955245 Only 1.e4 is missing, the rest of the moves should be shifted 1 spot (1.b6 should be: 1.e4 b6 2...etc).
I would appriciate it if you could take a look (and fix it๐).

....and russ is yet to answer.....
In the past, if we have had a 24hr+ outage, timebanks have been credited to compensate.
This outage, although some may argue otherwise, did actually happen at an ideal time and was low impact on the majority of users. Early hours of a Sunday morning, GMT. The site is very unloaded (relatively speaking), and it hits the time everyone voted for site outages to take place.
Now, a few people clearly do not see it that way, if you are from NZ or AUS, such as yourself, where the timing was less convenient, this clearly impacted you more. And the outage did run to midday even for those in Europe.
Other than apologise for your lost time in this instance, I can't do much else on an individual basis.
*There might be something we can do here though in future. If we have a scheduled outage in the future, I may change the way it works right now.
