Thanks I understand this, but let me rephrase:
Will it be accepted as it is made out for the current subscription amount, even if it arrives in 2009? I'm not looking for a loophole to save 20 clams but my sub just ran out and I need to mail a check today, and I wanted to make it out properly. 😉
I have always found this weird as everything else goes up every year, that RHP prices stay the same. If I continue my subscription for another 40 years, will my annual sub even buy a loaf of bread in the UK? No doubt the new subs will be paying more like £300 per annum. But at 77 in 40 years I doubt I will be in a position to care 😀
Now most of us get wage increases each year, I for one would not be unhappy to see an increase in price from the 1st January, based shall we say on the RPI index in September in the UK or whatever country Russ runs and pays for server space.
This way we keep paying in real terms the same money year on year (subject to slight country variations (with a few manic execptions)).
Lets assume at the end of 2009, lets say that the RPI is 5%.
a) The increase on running is only 4%, increase subs by only 4%. New subs will pay the same price as 2009 + 4%.
b) The increase is 5%, increase subs by 5%. New subs will pay the same price as 2009 + 5%.
c) The increase is 6%, increase subs by 5%. New subs will pay the balance, much using the equation Russ uses now.
This way I keep paying the same real costs as I took my sub out 2 years ago. But smaller charges are passed onto new subs, the lifeblood and future of this site.
Russ, I would urge you to consider this and maybe pass it onto a vote to existing members. The vote is, as I speak for myself and not anyone elses views.
I would just like to have my subscription back!!!! 😀
I knew it was up for renewal in December, but with Christmas and all of the necessary socialising, 😉 , I was unsure of the date. No email reminder or PM on the site and eventually I got a message to say I had lost my Star as my sub had expired. :'(
Immediately, I got my details and paid the full amount. The money has been withdrawn and I've received an email from 2checkout confirming payment, but even 4 days later, still no renewal. I'm somewhat limited without it, so can you please help Russ?? 🙂🙂
On the pricing thing, I think an annual memebership of even $39.95 is excellent value, even in the current economic climate. In the UK that's about 55p or so per week. Keep up the good work!!

When will it be possible to pay for the subscription simply by sending money by bank using an IBAN ?

As from January 1st 2009, subscriptions will rise to $39.95 annually.
This increase will only affect new subscribers*.
*If you do not use recurring billing (you subscribed via another method other than credit card or cancelled a card order), then the new rate will apply.
If you are an existing subscriber on a recurring billing, the old rate will continue as long as the card details are kept valid.
