I hadn't noticed this post before it seems to have some merit in it's proposal
But as usual I didn't get to the bottom of page one before all the insults started flying about
Russ why don't you just shut all the forums down
Passions run high on this and there is a risk of losing sight of the objective. The objective is to fix a broken system. Hurling accusations back and forth who broke it isn't going to fix it. Banishing whoever broke it also isn't going to fix it. If those who broke it were banished, the system would still be vulnerable to abuse by someone else.
Pleading to Russ to do something also won't fix it unless he knows what to do.
Several weaknesses of the system have been identified: it is vulnerable to collusion and sandbagging; sheer number of wins is not a fair measure of success--unless every clan were to play the same number of games as every other clan (which would require a round robin).
I have proposed systematic changes which address the weaknesses noted. If there are other weaknesses which need to be shored up, or alternative proposals which address the issues, then let's hear them, please.
