Why aren't politicians elected on their skill and merit as leaders over there as they are in say Australia for instance. It seems to be a contest for who is the richest over there, not the most qualified. Sorry if I'm wrong but that's how it comes across over here.
Politics in our country is not accompanied with all the fanfare and posturing that goes on over in America. This election seems to have been going for a decade. Over here an election is announced. There's a few commercials on TV and then we vote. No banners, no placards, no crazies.
