There are a few rough spots. Do you have an editor to check grammar?

@HandyAndy Yes, it has been professional proof read. I noticed a couple of typos recently though, things like names slip through.

There are plural subjects with singular verbs. I found two on Page 1:

"... a couple of children followed by a rowdy, barking dog runs down the street."

"... the short swords at their sides warns anyone who might think of causing a ruckus."

@HandyAndy

The boy almost loses his footing as a couple of children followed by a rowdy, barking dog runs down the street. He stops his wheelbarrow to let a large cart pulled by oxen pass. Upon the cart, the boy can see hundreds of fresh fish. His stomach rumbles as he watches a couple of stray dogs walk behind the cart, hoping for a morsel of food to fall from it.
Turning his attention back to his wheelbarrow, the boy car- ries on walking. A few Roman soldiers pass him. Their legion armour glistens in the sun and the short swords at their sides warns anyone who might think of causing a ruckus.

@Duchess64

Nope - and neither did https://www.proofreader-perfect.com when I paid for their proof reading services.

I am not interested in debating grammar nazi pendants and their followers - if you have nothing positive to add to this post then please stop trolling it.

All in all the reading was enjoyable.
So, your reading experience wasn't marred by poor grammar then. 😉
