@sleepyguy saidSleepy……methinks this skewed person finds absolutely no redeeming values in Republicans. Think about it. So, we have to regard his comments as correct from here on? Why is he saying this?
You are saying the right wing doesn't want people to learn useful skills?
@mchill saidEducation is essentially access to information, and the cost of education has plummeted as fast as the cost of computing power and information storage. The dams that held back information have burst. The people that tried to control the flow of information and charge for access have been swept away.
- that are FREE.
The right wing's war on higher education in America is failing because of this. No matter if you're an aspiring entrepreneur, blockchain coder, daycare operator, or Yoga teacher, these sites have the information you need.

I think back to when I was young, paging through my grandfather's Encyclopedia Brittanica to glean scraps of information. And I loved those scraps, copying them down carefully on index cards like a medieval scribe.
Now, I have the Knowledge of the Universe in my pocket. "Hey Siri..." It's like all of humanity was starving for information for millenia, and now we have LIMITLESS ALL-YOU-CAN EAT BUFFETS 24/7.
Nom, nom.
@spruce112358 saidYep, it's great. Two thumbs up for easy access to information. So why does mchill think people on the right are against it?

@mchill saidFree! Free! Free! The most cherished of all concepts to the world’s liberals and socialists. That word is hammered out about 55 times in this video about free.

A true oxymoron, a video highlighting websites that are free, to show you how to get stuff from other people. Stuff for free. Free!Free!Creepy!
@sleepyguy saidI do not know. "Hey Siri. Why does mcchill think that people....?"

@sleepyguy saidYes the right wing are famous for dumbing down their target population, uneducated people are a lot easier to control with BS than educated people, it’s a very simple and well known fact and should probably be too obvious to debate.
You are saying the right wing doesn't want people to learn useful skills?
A classic right wing target is the intellectual and intellectualism itself, it’s the same with so called communist movements they all hate actual knowledge being disseminated amongst the population.

There seems to be a plethora of articles like this.
Trump doesn't like educated folks it seems to me, like he says 'media is the enemy of the people' and the like. I think the reason some republicans put down education is simply educated folks tend to vote democrat and they want folks to vote republican so they attack those that don't vote their way.
Seems natural enough to me, democracy is about getting the most votes and there are many ways to do that and it is not up to me to say the morality of it is bad or good, it just is.
@averagejoe1 saidYou do know that free is the natural state of things you dummy

People are naturally free and knowledge passing between them freely is the natural state of things. If you make knowledge a commodity your simply creating a bottle neck and slowing down the flow of knowledge which leads to the retardation of its expansion.
I mean you stupid MAGAs are getting your information from one very corrupt individual with a track record of outlandish lies
@sleepyguy saidThere is nothing to win or lose it’s just a statement of obvious fact which you can choose to ignore in your quest for the non existent win if you choose
Oh well then. You win! LOL.
@kevcvs57
But the knowledge of that kind of thing didn't help Germany when Hitler took over. Book burnings and such showed folks quite clearly what he thought about the educated and in China there was this pogrom of educated folks going as far as attacking people who wore glasses, just LOOKING like they were educated.

@sonhouse saidI think what some are identifying as disdain for education is actually disdain for left wing "educators" who take perfectly good young people and try turning them into bitter Marxists with gender dysphoria instead of successful happy people. Conservatives do value knowledge and skill, but modern universities have increasingly become an unsafe place to send your kids to get them. There are also plenty of intellectuals who are admired on the right, Jordan Peterson, Thomas Sowell, Milton Friedman and son on, but I'll bet they don't count for some reason.
