A deadly disease is set to hit the shores of the US, UK and much of the rest of the northern hemisphere in the coming months. It will swamp our hospitals, lay millions low and by this time next year between 250,000 and 500,000 worldwide will be dead, thousands of them in the US and Britain.

Despite the best efforts of the medical profession, there’s no reliable cure, and no available vaccine offers effective protection for longer than a few months at a time.

Theme novel: Stephen King's The Stand.

Except Captain Trips was made from influenza and didn't come from Africa.

The flu isn't scary because the vast, vast majority of young healthy people survive it.

The vast, vast majority of young healthy people will survive the ebola epidemic. 'Cause they won't get it.

The fear is that it will turn into a pandemic, not that it won't.

And that fear is unfounded judging by what we know about ebola.

It depends on the variety. Influenza has this interesting ability to mimic sexual reproduction. If two influenza viruses are in the same person they can swap genes. You never know what nasty variety is coming...that's why they're labelled like H1N1 or whatever.

A deadly disease is indeed here but it is NOT ebola. The CDC claims around 1000 cases but the doctors treating it claim it is much higher. It has similarities to polio. Most of those affected are children. Very little is being told in the media.

The corollary to that is that everything good is produced by the President.
