It seems people get more upset by offensive language than offensive statements. Metal Brain can post about punching women but my post gets deleted if I use an expletive at his vile statement.
Still I suppose it can be worth trying to keep discussions civil, regardless of another poster's ideas. Pretty damn hard though when you read enough posts.

That’s why the other name for left of centre is ‘progressives’ because we like society and culture to progress, and for authoritarianism to decline, it’s kind of who we are
Being right or left of centre is nothing in itself to be ashamed of it depends where the centre is. I would say that in the US the centre is Biden but there is nothing to prevent the GOP from occupying that space
