No, the "sack" of America is located just North of it's "ass", which is Texas. Why do you think they call it the "Brown Star State"?

Why stress what bbarr says?... he didn't choose to come to school in America because he hates it, not to mention he nicknamed himself after an elephant in a childrens book.

I can't believe I'm actually agreeing with you on this one.

Obviously I do want animals treated kindly before they land on my plate, but I don't think I should be questioning a government's policy on animals at a time when that same government has no problems dismembering and mutulating little children with their daily bombing runs.

Just makes me feel like i don't have my priorities straight.

My God...

You were on such a role and then you had to spout this rubbish.

You truly generally fail to impress me..and once again...you've failed again.

The ironic thing is...I don't think you're being ironic.
I seriously think you are trying to impress us.

Animal welfare's not that high up my list of priorities either.
My point is that corporate america is using the 'war on terror' as an excuse to cut costs. Its important that we see who's calling the shots - the US isn't attacking Iraq because of some desire to make the world safer (christ, if the world was safer, they'd sell fewer weapons - can't have that!). Its about markets and resources for the big corporations. And these parasites will take every opportunity to cut costs, under any pretence.
Remember when a list of things not allowed on planes was drawn up (box cutters, nail clippers, AK47s etc) - cigarrette lighters were specifically removed from that list (ie allowed on planes), on the insistence of the tobacco companies.
Its about the economic system, and its constant need to keep growing and expanding. And to keep cutting costs.

Please distinguish between animal rights and animal welfare:

although their advocates appear aligned to those of us who cast animal parts before aquatic carnivores for recreation, they are not one and the same
