That is incorrect; ALL people have and retain forever their inalienable Natural Rights no matter where they are. A just government accepts and recognizes this fact; a tyranny does not. ALL present governments are tyrannies in one way or another.

Checks and balances DSR; congress can't just pass any law it wants, it doesn't matter if the President signs it into law, it still has to pass constitutional muster, which Gitmo did not.

Unfortunately, the irony for our guests at GITMO, or any future "detainees," is that they will just be shot in the field (my first choice!), or housed in the prisons of other countries where their chances of being mistreated are almost guaranteed.

Baloney. Those who have been released from Gitmo have almost invariably been set free by their home countries.

It makes clear that 1/3 of the remaining detainees are from Yemen and if they were released to that country, they would not be detained. Neither have the Gitmo prisoners who were released to Saudi Arabia or Afghanistan been in any number.

the drafters of the constitution said "We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal,that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness." i don't see where it says there that only americans enjoy these rights. and i fail to understand how can morris say "people intent on destroying our society" when their guilt was not proven

Most people have been set free. What does that tell you about the accuracy of the CIA's information in apprehending "terrorists?" Let me make that conclusion for you in case you can't:

The camp was set up in Cuba solely because the rights of the Constitution wouldn't technically have to apply. That's one of the horrid things about the prison. Just one of them.

anyone labeled as enemy combatant can win a lot of time in the gitmo spa. who does the labeling? is it a lengthy process to decide a human being is not worthy of a trial or simply a US officer can send anyone there that has been caught buying bread from a bakery near a safehouse for terrorists?
