He did? When exactly?
Putin compares himself to Peter the Great in quest to take back Russian lands
@vivify saidSorry, but only the most paranoid would equate that to "Putin has made it clear he wishes to gobble up Eastern Europe, including NATO members."

@no1marauder saidPutin's words from the same article:

“Apparently, it is also our lot to return [what is Russia’s] and strengthen [the country]. And if we proceed from the fact that these basic values form the basis of our existence, we will certainly succeed in solving the tasks that we face.”
Putin made his intent to reclaim eastern Europe quite clear.
@no1marauder saidInjecting 1.9 trillion into the economy creating inflation is like a guy taking meth. Everything is great until the crash. A recession is coming and more QE to bail out the bond market. Stagflation big time. Biden will not get another term.
Unemployment rate is down to 3.5%, lowest in 50 years.
The US had added 10 million jobs since Biden was inaugurated. https://www.newyorker.com/news/our-columnists/biden-heads-for-the-midterms-with-ten-million-new-jobs
That sounds like a "strong economy" to me.
@vivify saidHe didn't say that. Give it up.

@metal-brain saidSaid the guy who claimed biological weapons were being made at a maternity hospital.
He didn't say that. Give it up.
Putin clearly said it's Russia's goal to take back land in the way Peter the Great did.
I'm not going to argue with you, a nutcase who claimed rich people are eating babies to live longer.

Putin’s long-term goal in eastern Europe is, in fact, perfectly clear. He wants to restore as much as possible of the empire, great power status and sphere of influence that Russia lost so dramatically 30 years ago, with the disintegration of the Soviet Union
@averagejoe1 saidWell you shouldn’t really need to learn that supplying the where with all for someone else to sustain the defence of their sovereignty against an attacker is not anything like going to actual war, in fact it could be argued that it’s a way of avoiding going to actual war if your doing it right.
Nailed me there! Viv has learned us that supplying assistance in a war is not the same as being in the war. AOC should try that line!!!
Iran is supplying Russia with kamikaze drones but I don’t suppose they consider themselves to be at actual war.
@vivify saidWe're going to wind up in a nuclear war if people keep believing such exaggerated propaganda.

@no1marauder saidRussia annexed areas of Georgia, Crimea, and since making that statement, annexed four more areas of Ukraine.
We're going to wind up in a nuclear war if people keep believing such exaggerated propaganda.
It's not "propaganda" if Putin is actively doing the very thing he already claimed he has a right to be doing.
@no1marauder saidHopefully we Will not wind up in a war, because the very reason we keep oil reserves is in case we end up in a war… And Biden has depleted our reserves

@kevcvs57 saidOK, So Kev is down as being one in favor of AOC saying one thing and now doing another.

@averagejoe1 saidNo I’m in favour of you not getting a pass when you lie about someone saying one thing and doing another.
OK, So Kev is down as being one in favor of AOC saying one thing and now doing another.
AOC is nit advocating going to war, she is advocating for the right to assist a third party in its own defence. Has she advocated for US forces to engage Russian forces.
