Thanks for the clarification.

My freshman roomate at the University of Maryland was gay, my main complaint with his lifestyle was he loved the Doors (which was ok) but he'd play the song 'People are Strange' over and over and over.

To this day, I hate that darn song......
ha ha, now that's funny!

Well, since this isn't really a question for debate (dsR is mine ... keep your liberal paws off him (joking of course) ) but more like a personal attack, I have asked the Moderator to remove this thread.

You want to cast insults of a personal nature on these two people, do it in a private message.
What? This is no more of an attack than the ones dsr continues to make against many types of people, one can assume that he has problems with his sexuality... It is proven in various studies that people who are homophobic tend to be repressed homosexuals.

Furhtermore, and I am surprised I did not mention it already: homosexual/gay/queer should not be used as an insult and should not necessarily be insulting anyway...

So if we frame the question as "is ANYONE who denigrates gays a self-hating homosexual?" without mentioning anyone by name, it's OK to debate I assume.

I've always thought of gayness (real gayness; not the opportunistic kind that one finds in prisons or on ships) as an adverse mutation like Down's or a hairlip.

So I find the notion of hating gayness bigoted.

On the other hand, if I express an aversion to a mutation, say Down's, why must I HAVE that condition? I don't see the logic in that either.

Thats your 14 year old opinion and your entitled to it. Others have their opinions as well. When I hear stories coming out of California about gays having unprotected sex even though we known about AIDS/HIV for decades now... what should I think?

The first thing that comes to mind is these people have a death wish.

What would you think?

(Laughs) But I really liked the guy, he was a good friend and gosh, even had a few conservative points of view .... from time to time
It didn't even bother him when I wore my Air Force ROTC uniform, in fact he nearly got into a knockdown brawl one time when some his friends were getting on my case about it. (this was 1970 and Vietnam War was still in progress)

At least he didn't put up posters of naked guys all over the wall, I think that would have bothered my folks when they came for a visit.

It is not a defect, as stated by the WHO. The reason is: "If I make sure that I put down gays, no one will think I am one myself!"

Common high school routine.

Perhaps you should notice that some straight people do the same, and the majority should not be punished for the minority... shouldn't rational, wise, mature adults understand this already?
