@mott-the-hoople saidbest argument ever. Just say that and your opponent in Debate will fold and agree to anything you said...
are you just stupid or what?
@ponderable saidIt’s the cold hard irony that gets me.

@shavixmir saidArguments do have to be met by counter-arguments. Counter-examples can also refute bad arguments.
This is actually a logical fallacy.
The argument being that women are unfunny. And your reply is to come with a list of exceptions. It doesn’t actually address the argument.
@book-and-bored saidUtter hogwash.
Take the top 100 funniest people in the world, all time, and a woman wouldn't make that list.
Joan Rivers.
Jennifer Saunders
Diane Morgan
To name just a few.

Q.E.D.
Another bad argument: giving credit or blame to an elected official about something they have no control over. Like pointing out 9/11 happened under Bush's watch.
Blaming or crediting a mayor, governor, Prime Minister, etc., for a rise or decrease in crime, a rise or decrease in unemployment, etc., are bad arguments unless you can point to a specific policy, action or deliberate inaction that caused said rise or decrease in whatever good or bad thing that happened during their term.
Merely pointing out something good or bad happened during a presidency and giving blame or credit is a flawed argument.
there are too many to list. I used to see American politics as a hobby, a fun little diversion when McCain and Romney were representing the "bad side". Now it's just depressing.
Here: i will add one too. Homophobic turds behind "don't say gay" bills say they are doing it to protect kids (a hateful lie of an argument in itself) all the while the same party will force a 12 year old to give birth to another child. Child marriage is legal in many states and Tennessee's latest homophobic piece of excrement introduces vague language that can be interpreted as eliminating age requirements for marriage altogether.
@vivify saidBush received numerous reports saying an attack by a large terrorist group is imminent and did close to nothing

That can be placed at his feet
@shavixmir saidHogwash. Hogwash is a perfectly valid response ... to hogwash. And you can quote none less than Bertand Russell on that.
No. The examples are there to booster the counter-argument (i.e. that his statement is hogwash).
And that, obviously, in itself is a pretty poor argument.
@vivify offers up:
- On whether women are funny:
Wanda Sykes is a freekin' panic. Very humorous woman. But, yes, as usual, there are a lot more men in the field.
- On abortion:
We have the rights of two humans at stake and it is impossible to save both. 6 months.
- On men vs. women drivers:
forget it. women suck as drivers. Wealthy race car drivers all over the world are men. end of story.

Here's one people rarely talk about - racehorse jockeys
here's an occupation that is highly paid, and where it is an advantage to weigh less, which women do.
And yet women are still absent from the field. Think they'll figure it out? not a chance.
