@Earl-of-Trumps
If Obama had done ONE TENTH of the corruption your god king Trump does on a daily basis the outcry from republicans could be heard on the MOON.
But since he is your god king, there is no such thing as corruption from such an elevated being.

Do you think that referring to Covid 19 as the Chinese or Wuhan virus does not stigmatise Asian people and result in an increase in domestic racist incidents against them?

Don't blame Trump for a system to name viruses that America has used since
viruses got names, for gods sake.

West Nile Virus, Ebola Virus, Marburg Virus (German), and German ...[text shortened]... n Spotted Fever (Colorado, US)

I don't want to hear your whining about your extreme sensitivities
Jesus H Christ, could you be anymore disingenuous?

You are right. The British enslaved Scotts and Irish.
That's a discredited myth:

What's intriguing about this is that it potentially advances the idea that racism is an ideology that is relative to the circumstances of the time period, and not so applicable to previous periods or contexts beyond the present.

A bold move.

But when your selection process is based on color..? hmmm.
The English enslaved Scots and Irishmen?
Well, they did send Scots to Australia to workcamps as prisoners. I’m pretty much sure I’d consider that slavery. I.e. if you imprison me (for whatever reason), do not expect me to work for you. Indeed, expect resistence evey step of the way.*

If, 200 years ago, the slaves you were offered were from Africa, and society deemed slavery normal, I’m still not sure racism is a factor.
Did, for example, the concept of African people being “lesser” lead to slavery of Africans, or was the concept later created to justify this slavery?

Even the abolishment movement wasn’t anti-racist. It was anti-slavery as a concept.

*this being said, locking me up, giving me food, no need to work, no need to clean things up and nobody asking me questions all day, actually sounds like a great holiday.
Solitary confinement is the cherry on top of the cake. I might even consider robbing a bank to achieve such peace and calm!

Well that’s just not true is earl and as far as the Scots it would be logically impossible for the British to enslave themselves.
But hey you can’t let little things like facts and logic get in the way when your defending a racist scumbag like trump.

No the British sent Scots to Australia along with a lot of Irish and oh yeah and a lot of English. Britain was created by a Scottish King as was the Union Jack.
Nice try at deflection and hand washing though shav.

Yeah but your telling outright lies again though earl.
So can you provide a link explaining when Covid 19 was designated the ‘chIna virus’ or are you going to retract the lie and admit that your man is a racist pig.

The Act of Union that created the United Kingdom came into force under Queen Anne. So it was a Queen, not a King, in whose reign the Union Flag and Britain as a single political entity were created. She was a Stuart, although they'd been in England for four generations by then.

Really!?!? - Huffington Post

[i]Joe Biden, the presumptive Democratic presidential nominee, claimed Wednesday that there had never been a racist president in the U.S. until Donald Trump.

Biden made the claim at a virtual town hall on Wednesday after being asked about Trump’s decision to call the coronavirus the “China virus” or “Wuhan virus” whenever he speaks pu ...[text shortened]...
a very racist human being, as an example.

Anyway, now you know why I call them LYING liberals.
There's whether someone is racist in an absolute sense, and there's relative racism, by which I mean whether they were racist by the standards of their day. Given that slave ownership was ubiquitous in the colonies and newly independent America, it's not clear that slave ownership is indicative of a high level of relative racism. I don't know about Lyndon B. Johnson, but I can see Trump as being unusually racist relative to the standards of his era, i.e. now, compared with the relative racism of former Presidents.

So go back to it and show me where I am wrong. Until you "prove" otherwise:

What I posted was truthful and cogent. Many many viruses are named for
the geographical location where the breakout occurred.

Look at the Marburg virus. It originated in Africa and was brought to Marburg,
Germany in monkeys to be used in lab tests. The virus jumped to humans there
and hence, the name "Marburg" was attached to the affliction.
I don't hear Germans screaming "racism", do you??

Nothing could be more obvious, for cripes sake. The virus is most often named
after the location where the breakout to humans occurred.

Explainer:
H1N1
Like CoV-2, the flu we now know as H1N1 actually has a much longer official name: A/California/04/2009(H1N1). This follows WHO guidelines put forth in 1980 that designate the naming of a virus according to the type of host it infects, the place it originated, its lineage, the year it was isolated, and its protein antigen type—all of which are described by letters and numbers. Here’s the translation: It’s the common Influenza type A, isolated first in California, the 4th virus of its kind to be discovered, in 2009, and its particular proteins are hemagglutinin type 1 and neuraminidase type 1.

This flu is also known popularly as swine flu,
- Readers Digest

Notice it's actual name has "California" in it, a name designated by WHO.

So, kev, should Californians cry "racism"?
