I don't know for sure but one theory surrounding all the fear mongering misinformation about cholesterol in eggs in the 1980s' was deliberately planted to get people to stop eating the nano-selenium in "eggs". They thought it was harmless for human health but people started having cardiovascular symptoms from the nano-Se.
