I just watched a documentary on the Discovery Channel about Flight 93. On 9-11-2001 its takeoff was delayed, so that once in the air, passengers had time to find out via cell phones about the two hijacked aircraft hitting the towers in New York City. They wouldn't have known exactly what target the Flight 93 hijackers were flying to, but they surely knew that the hijackers' assertion that they were going back to the airport of origin to land and negotiate was a lie. Passengers grabbed fire extinguishers to use as clubs, and flight attendants boiled pots of water to use on the hijackers. I have a suspicion that, unlike the hijackers in the other three aircraft that day, the ones onboard 93 did not suffer a painless, instantaneous death.
I have a T-shirt printed with the photo of an Iraqi girl being held in her father's arms. Her foot is blown off. She is dead. I wonder if she has brothers who were also innocent but are now your next terrorist threat.
