If your neighboring country was socialised (same lack of facilities) they wouldn't have had a place to go, no matter the money. The babies life would be in danger. If Canadian system is so great, why aren't there facilities?
Simply wrong. You are treated even if you cannot pay. Proven every day by 20 million Mexican nationals who get free medical at hospital.
Americans without health care don't go to the hospital because of the bills you have to pay afterword. Fact.
Originally posted by uzlessAmericans who don't have health care go to hospitals all the time... to the emergency room. Parkland Hospital in Dallas , Texas is a fine example of that. Illegal Immigrants make it there all the time as well as other hospital emergency rooms. And they receive the same treatment as everyone else. Those of us with health care pay for it with higher costs, and the government kicks in money as well (which is to say we the taxpayers, so we get socked twice)

Your facts are faulty once again, when it comes to how American health care operates
Maybe we should make Canadian taxpayers build more capacity now by refusing Canadian citizens health care at US hospitals . After all, you like to pay taxes so whats a little more.

That's right, sports fans. A plan for giving health care to uninsured children and paying for it by raising the tax on cigarettes an additional 61 cents/pack WAS VETOED by George today. Oh, the humanity!! The ,am is an embarrassment that just never ceases to amaze me.
I mean, c'mon, man! It's for the chilllldren.

Originally posted by Hank Reardenhealth care in canada is NOT free. It's paid for by taxpayers. If you want to judge a system, then ask the people who live in that country what they think of the system. Most surveys done in the last 10 years show Canadians would not trade their system in for an American style user-pay system.

Health care is the No. 1 election issue in Canada. It speaks to one of the ideological differences between Canada and the US.

You guys have no problem buying our oil, cars and lumber....so why can't we buy some of your healthcare???
I think it is interesting that people believe that a country with tax paid health care is 'caring' for its citizens. If that country really cared, I mean truly had the citizens health in mind, it would NOT waste its time spending tax money on band-aids and false hope. That country would be spending its money on properly feeding and training it citizens to be physically and mentally fit. Health is not found in the doctors office or hospital... and to be duped into believing otherwise is sad.
