@AThousandYoung saidIt’s just crazy, don’t you know. Even ‘lust in my heart’ Jimmy Carter. You little fellers need to run Mr Rogers……no , wait….creepy stuff. So what are we to do? How bout someone who knows something about business rather than someone who does not? We have to start somewhere to make our decision..
Were you with Trump when he walked into the teenage girls' changing room?

@no1marauder saidMillions and millions think the opposite about Trump.
We've already seen the damage Trump can do in four years. His corruption and incompetence was almost unique in US history.
What does Kamala Harris' results on her first try on the bar exam 35+ years ago have to do with anything NOW?
So, face it. Your comment that he was a failure is not fact.
And, what does what Trump did years ago have to do with anything now?

@no1marauder saidCompetition, maybe? Geezx1000
"The federal corporate tax rate in the United States is 21%, and it applies to a corporation's profits."
https://www.investopedia.com/terms/c/corporatetax.asp
So you don't know what you are talking about. IF a corporation could simply raise their prices and increase their profits, they'd have already done so. Increases in the tax on profits can only be passed on to shareholders and maybe to a lesser extent the corporation's workers.
112d
@no1marauder saidYes it is.
Someone who doesn't even know that corporations set prices to maximize profits really shouldn't be criticizing others for a supposed lack of business knowledge.
The US isn't a business BTW and the President doesn't "run" it.

@vivify saidBankruptcy is a tool. Look it up. And you may need it one day. NO ONE considers it a bad thing. I actually bought a biz once, with intent to bankrupt it, now it thrives.
Trump went bankrupt 6 times:

Using your own logic: why would you want someone running a country who couldn't even run his businesses?

@no1marauder saidThis is not an Econ thread, a subject which could REAL laborious here. We would have to all visit the same board rooms in order to devise answers here. I think Marauder citing the corp tax % is the only fact on the thread. I’ll lurk! After all, comments like Trump was\is bad can be offset by Trump was/is good, thus laboriousness abounds!
Here's some more facts you are probably unaware of:
"The share that corporate tax revenues comprise of total federal tax revenues also has collapsed, falling from an average of 28 percent of federal revenues in the 1950s and 21 percent in the 1960s to an average of about 10 percent since the 1980s."
https://www.cbpp.org/research/the-decline-of-corporate-income-tax-r ...[text shortened]... nt could cut the deficit and/or afford a middle class tax cut. That is exactly what Harris proposes.

@no1marauder said2 diff things. But, Feel free to convince me that someone who borrowed money should not have to pay it back. I have not been convinced yet. Frankly, I think Biden never actually gave us his own logic on the tuition thingy.
Joe is very much against the government forgiving debts people owe to it but all for the government telling creditors they can't get paid from private debtors in bankruptcy.

@AThousandYoung saidAwwww, man….no facts here. I know a few million people who think he will ‘raise’ the country out of the trash.
Who wants to elect someone who will throw the country into the trash if it will be in his personal economic interests?
Which is what a businessperson is...
Thousand, if I make the statement ‘He will raise us up’, is that a fact? Is your statement likewise a fact.? Jesus
I feel like an English teacher at 10th grade in the Bronx.
@AverageJoe1 saidBankruptcy helped Trump; not the hundreds or thousands of employees who had to be laid off or fired, and not the shareholders who lost money investing in Trump's business.
Bankruptcy is a tool. Look it up. And you may need it one day. NO ONE considers it a bad thing. I actually bought a biz once, with intent to bankrupt it, now it thrives.
If Trump runs America like his businesses, he'll get rich while the country suffers.

Yes you have been. That's what bankruptcy does.

Yet, you call everyone who wants education and healthcare provided parasites?
You fvcking hypocrite!

FIFTY YEARS of obvious graft and corruption, making himself and his extended family of 20+ people millionaires with no other means of income other than their relation to him, that is quite an accomplishment.
@Cliff-Mashburn saidIf it's sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo obvious, how come the Republicans in Congress couldn't come up with anything even after years of digging?

The Biden administration did a pretty good job overall, rescuing the economy from the COVID mess Trump mismanaged and finally getting us out of the war in Afghanistan.
I'd give him a "B".
