@shallow-blue saidHow are the measures against the spread of the virus going to kill so many people ?
True.
When this is over, let's remember: it was not the China Corona virus which killed most people. It is the "measures against" the China Corona virus which will kill many times as many people as the virus itself.
@ogb saidThat is perhaps quite likely.
@Suzianne
ok just wait until they freeze all our bank accounts...to prevent a "run" on the banks.
Trump is an advocate of low interest rates, it is not inconceivable that he will
persuade the Fed to implement a base rate of say -0.5%. That will mean borrowing
$1,000 and repaying $995. But for savers it means paying the bank to have your
money! Most people will try to withdraw their money under those circumstances.

You know more than the scientists.
Try to limit your ignorance to yourself. Scientists have know for a while now that UV light kills viruses.
@eladar saidThe link did not say there would be no more deaths in August.
Your link said no more deaths in August.
I was just giving a possible reason.
@whodey saidYou forgot to add death toll by firearms.
Just a quick search shows the following in terms of death tolls annually in the US.
1. Corona virus: 108
2. AIDS: 13,000
3. Flu: 30,000
4. Car wrecks: 40,000
5. Alcoholism: 88,000
From the list above, the government has shut down the economy for only corona virus and taken away our freedom to work and live our lives.
As for government acting on th ...[text shortened]... ey can't die fast enough. Thank God for abortion on demand that total over 600 thousand a year now.
"At least 15,292 people were fatally shot in The United States in 2019, excluding suicides, according to data gathered by Gun Violence Archive, a nonprofit that tracks shootings."

@ogb saidI was assuming that that was irony.
How are the measures against the spread of the virus going to kill so many people ?
@ogb saidFirst of all, I am not saying the virus will decay, I am saying the growth rate will decay. (google exponential growth and decay). Growth will turn into slow growth and then no growth because your population will have all contracted the virus, ergo, nothing left to grow on.
So what is the time frame of this virus's "decay" ? Eventually, it will just dissipate into nothing?
I have been simply observing the new figures as they come in and try to judge by that. I don't see the second coming of the Spanish flu here. Just my opinion.
