"deficit spending" so raising taxes to reduce the deficit spending is good enough?
How about desiring less by spending less so the deficit can go down that way?
The only thing quantifiable factually in your argument is the democrats want to
take more money for the spending they are doing without fail. You seem to think
there is a difference between the two parties when t ...[text shortened]... y are both doing the
same thing in different ways, get spend, take spend, and they all get wealthy.

I'm not quite sure what you mean by this? In comparison to what? Since deficits are so massively large, this idea is definitely, without a doubt, better than increasing spending.

Things that are quantifiable have numbers in them. Its really hard to quantify how much of something someone wants. I was really talking about outputs, not sentiment. What do they actually do as leaders, rather than what they say. We have real numbers.
An example in this context is "yearly deficit" or "federal budget". Taxes in, spending out. Budget numbers are quantifiable. The year before the pandemic started, Trump's administration had a $1 trillion deficit (meanwhile the O'bummer administration in 2016 was $587 billion.)
In other contexts, the two parties are very similar. Just not on this issue. It's really clear that Republicans are way worse on spending. They are not doing the same thing in different ways. You can look at and quantify the numbers. Reagan took the deficit from $70 billion to $175 billion. Bush 41 took it to $300 billion. Clinton got it to zero. Bush 43 took it from zero to $1.2 trillion. Obama halved it to $600 billion. Trump’s got it back to a trillion.
Republican leaders spend MORE on deficits than Democrats.

spending, no use talking numbers with you.
@kellyjay saidWhat about anything I wrote made you think that?

These are real numbers so it's not about who i think is better. What do you think about the fact that Republican deficit spending in the federal government far exceeds democrats?

@wildgrass saidNo, I don't think you are looking at it clearly at all for the reasons I have already

@kellyjay saidYour reason was not plural. It was regarding what the respective parties "want" to do with government.
No, I don't think you are looking at it clearly at all for the reasons I have already
given.
Unless I'm mistaken your reason didn't involve what the respective parties actually do with government. I think looking at results provides a clearer answer than just listening to what politicians tell you they want to do.
@athousandyoung saidAgree.
That's what they say, not what they do.
The first two years of Trump's term he had a Republican House and Senate.
That surer than heck did NOT stop spending from going UP. He spent more than Obama
@wildgrass saidBoth sides are getting rich, both sides are doing the same thing in slightly different

ways, and both sides are spending money they don't have and require more of ours.
You are a true believer but don't follow along well.
Follow the money, bait, and switch, and look here while they say this and do that.
I said both parties are the two sides of the same coin, two wings of the same bird.
Both play one against the other, just so they can take from one and give to
whoever they will as they get rich. If you think there is a difference, that only shows
that one side has really put one over on you, whichever side you are trusting to be
the good guys.
@kellyjay saidIf you think Democrats spending trillions on the poorer 50% is as bad as the Republicans spending trillions on the richer 1%, I wish you a speedy lamp post.

@shallow-blue saidI've said nothing about Trump, if that is all you got, you got nothing.
Ah - so you really have fallen for the Trump lies.
@shallow-blue saidYou shallowed all of that hook line and sinker didn't you?

@kellyjay saidYou are sort of deflecting the conversation with "both sides are getting rich" because that's obvious and inconsequential. We have a two party system so your analogy makes sense but...

The Federal government is a bird with wings. One wing (Republicans) spends more money than the other wing (Democrats). One wing (Republicans ) oversee massive deficit increases, and when the other wing (Democrats) takes power they decrease those deficits.
So yes, two wings of the same bird operating under different economic principles so the bird flies into a tree.
