Is this your opinion or can you translate ancient Hebrew or Aramaic?

According to those who know how to read Hebrew. Evidently, the Hebrew word Lo Tirtzach translates into murder, not kill.

Can you provide sources for that, because I thought that the Hebrew word for murder was Ratsach.

You can google it, but this is one that I found:

If you are going to play the "that's your interpretation" game, then you need to apply it both ways. In either case I think that puts a new light on your comment to generalisimo about "thou shalt not kill".

I hate to admit it, but he's right---Ratsach does seem to be the word most associated with nurderous acts.

That's fine. There can be more than one word used for the act. The quesion is not what words are used to describe murder, but the meaning of the specific word used.

From the link I gave earlier:

When the Torah says "Lo tirtzach," it means "Thou
shalt not **illegally** shed blood" -- i.e. murder

Thought provoking response. I am pleased though that I am not considered "evil." That would be gutting.

On other points, kindly note that, in my over wordy / liberal / lefty way, I made no comment on the Pro Life arguments, but pointed out that it is stupid to vote for idiots on the basis of a single issue, when the election has many issues, since that makes you available to being manipulated. I also objected to using the title of priest to frighten superstitious people into a fear of hell if they vote contrary to your single issue campaign, which I do consider bigoted and among other qualities, un-Christian.

Too many words again. Too sanctimonious again.

That's right, abortion is big business. To give you a taste, Planned Parenthood took in nearly $900 million dollars worth of income last year and from this $300 million came from government tax money. So the next time someone says that abortion should not be a political issue you should say, "Darn right, no more of our tax dollars should go towards it!!"

If you want to find out things are the way they are just follow the money trail.

Eladar is right. It would make little sense if it would say "thou shalt not kill" since the same book contains the glorification of the killing of numerous groups of "bad" people.
