If the media is so important and influencial in your life you must have a very shitty lifestyle. Go get some help.
If you honestly think you're not affected by media simply because you drink beer during the ad's, then you ARE as stupid as everyone here says you are.

Go away unless you have something intelligent to say. I thought IT people were supposed to be smart???

Seriously now, the problem you have is that you are easily fooled and impressionable, and this is usually caused by a lack of self confidence and by an inability to think for oneself.

You are the kind of person that will respond to the Nigerian Scam email and send them your bank account details hoping you would get $25M. So.. think first OK ? Axe deodorant does not get you a bunch of women, neither will those pills make your dick 10" long.

I said go away. Not only does your email not make sense, but you are making stupid assumptions about me that dont tie in with anything i said. How am i easily fooled and how am i impressionable? I mean, if you were good at insulting then maybe it would be worthwhile but your level of intelligence limits your everything. You havent even put any argument forward contrary to my view, which really speaks for itself. Dumb people TRY to attack personality. But you havent really even been succesful at that. You're just a all round failure. Bye bye.

YOU said/implied that the media and ads influence your life and your decisions. That only happens to certain people. Not all. Some people are strong minded and not easily manipulated.

OK .. do what you want ... go ahead and get those pills ...just remember I warned you. Your dick will still be 3" in six months time.

Got anything intelligent to say numbnuts? Nope? Thought so. Go away.
My game's on the dance floor or the bedroom with the ladies not "ball slapping" and "butt-bumping" on the courts with the knuckle-draggers, as you prefer. Sorry if I hurt your feelings, esoerotica....lighten-up, or better yet, Surfs Up!!!!!! 😉

The media influences everybody's life unless you are a deaf and blind. One way or another you are influenced not only by what you are shown, but also by what you are not shown. Believe me, i dont read magazines, i don't watch much telly, i don't listen to radio. I'd rather be outdoors. But no-matter where you are you are still bombarded with images and advertising. Whether you choose to buy a product or not, you still take these images on board with you and they influence you indirectly. Nearly half of my University Degree was on how to do this. And i did these subjects purley out of a morbid fascination of just how much media and marketing can influence someones thinking directly or in-directly.

Many forms of Government have been tried, and will be tried in this world of sin and woe. No one pretends that democracy is perfect or all-wise. Indeed it has been said that democracy is the worst form of Government except all those other forms that have been tried from time to time.

It's simple, it's called association. They associate images of products with lifestyles and your concious and sub concious take these on board. Even different types of beer are associated with different lifestyle and self image perception.

The article refers to teens. My previous post described the kind of people that are prey to advertising. Teens are in that category and thats some teens, not all. Very few adults are in that category.

As a 5 yr old I started drinking Coke and despite ads I never switched to Pepsi. As a 18 yr old I started drinking Carib beer and despite more aggressive advertising from Heinekin and other beers, I never changed.

Most adults I know make changes in taste and lifestyle based on important critieria .. who is doing it and which celebritiy says to do it counts for jackshi**.

The importance of ads in manipulating people is grossly overestimated. It is my opinion that a high % of the billions spent on advertising is wasted money. Although I am a believer in freedom of enterprise, excessive advertising represents one of the negative aspect of capitalism.

Teens are targeted more than anyone.

What do these adult base their changes in lifestyle on? What is this important criteria?

I'm pretty sure the people who decide to spend billions on advertising KNOW it is not a waste of time and money. They are alot smarter and not as simple as you. After all, do we really need Ipods?

Democracy, especially in the modern sense, is no more than the rule of the masses. Whether or not it is the best form of government is left to question, but nations should be able to rule themselves as they see fit. That choice is one of the basic right s which makes a nation autonomus, and sadly one which in recent years has been thrown to the wayside in lieu of "spreading democracy". Are there tragedies in this world, Yes! of course, it would be foolish to say otherwise, but should an outside entity or nation, invade another on some theoretical basis, absolutely not! this to is foolishness as I am sure recent events would allow us all to agree!
