Sorry, but to me that just don't add up ... it sounds very fishy ... something's going on that's being kept hidden from us ...
Ceding from the Union would probably cause a civil war but dramatically strengthening states rights whilst abolishing the electoral college for a much paired down federal state whose responsibilities would shrink to defence and macro economic policy might get as close as possible to compromise that would allow all Americans to choose the State that suited their own personal preference.

Repubs HATE helping common folk, ONLY in extreme downsizing the government so there won't be those pesky offices like the EPA, USDA, OSHA and the like, get rid of those MONSTROSITIES so the companies can roll free.
