@spruce112358 saidyes it does, and if you have children it should scare you too
And that scares you, doesn't it, Mott?
you see, I am capable of handling freaks like you. They want to indoctrinate our children with psychology.
put your panties and lipstick back in the drawer and get used to it.
@Mott-The-Hoople saidOooooo... psychology! {shudder!}
They want to indoctrinate our children with psychology.
Say it again... PSY-chology!
So scary. Next Halloween, I am going as a psychologist to scare Mott!
@spruce112358 saidI keep seeing this statement made but in the election just before this one, Dems won with the most votes in U.S. history. Not much changed with how Dems operated between then and now.
Here is the message I am hearing: "Dems need to get off their high horse. They need to start praising straight white maleness. Like it or not, straight white men are a BIG group. And they determine the outcome of elections. Straight white men are secretly fearful in a lot of ways, and they have gotten awfully tired of not being seen. For years, they have been passed over ...[text shortened]... way from them, etc. etc. etc. They don't like to talk about it - but they are quite frankly fed up."
Dems just failed to get their base excited enough to vote again. Trump got pretty much the exact same number of votes: had Dems voted like they did last time, Harris would likely be president.
Besides: what are the specific "fears" of straight white men? Whenever I ask this question there's no answer. Mchill started two threads on how straight white male concerns aren't being addressed but wouldn't elaborate.
Care to shed some light on what those fears and concerns are?
@vivify saidScott Galloway can explain the fears of men more thoroughly than I can. Starts around 1:30.

"The Democratic National Committee has a section that says 'who we serve'. If you add it up, that's about 76% of the population. When you are advantaging 76% of the population, you are not. You are disadvantaging the other 24%. And that 24% is squarely young men."

There are also terms like 'toxic masculinity' and 'reparations' that are almost always aimed squarely at straight white men.
Here is another one: Imagine getting a call from school and being told that your son needs medication for ADHD because he is 'aggressive' but then you find out he is just doing stuff like YOU did in school - even lesser offenses, probably. And you say, "What the heck?"
I was raised in the era of women's lib, civil rights, black history etc. so maybe I'm just used to being told 'All history is white history' and 'White men don't need support, just women and minorities."
Well, maybe the younger white men of today aren't finding it that easy to get over.
@spruce112358 saidOkay. So what should Dems actively do to reach out to straight white males?

@spruce112358 saidMost Dem politicians are mostly male.
You are asking me what should a party of mostly women should do to attract straight white males into supporting them?!?
😆
I have no idea, @vivify.
But this is the point I was making: all this complaining about "straight white males" but when asked what exactly you want, none of you can answer. Yet you want Dems to cater to you.
"Straight white males" act like teenage girls.
@vivify saidThis post reeks with oxymoron-ism.

@AverageJoe1 saidYou clearly don't know what that word means.

I did answer you.

I did answer you.
When asked, you seemed to indicate you have no idea.
EDIT: It seems you were joking. Right? Even so, this is your response when asked what Dems should do. No one has given an answer.
@vivify saidA little on the slow side, but getting there... 🙂
