So you really think tariffs punish foreign companies? What about the AMERCANS who buy them because there IS no American version of a Sony widget or a Samsung TV?
It means if a TV costs a wholesaler say 500 bucks and they want a 40% profit then it is some 700 dollars out the door at Best Buy or whatever. So then the 20% kicks in, now that 500 dollar TV costs Best Buy SIX hundred and Best buy is NOT going to just eat that and cut into their profit so the new price is 840 dollars MINIMUM, that is if Best buy doesn't get greedy and make the profit FIFTY percent and charge 900 dollars instead.

That is how it works. You said you had an economics degree, you should be able to follow that logic.

Sun house, somewhere in here you speak of tariffs, causing our good prices to go up. You should have rounded out that post by saying that it will all balance out because when Trump gets in, he will drop the taxes that you pay, so it will all equal out and we will kick Mexico and Canada ass.
