@kmax87 saidWell, in a way, yes. The other option would be to punish them for their success. Golly, hard decision. Thousand, above, goes the punish route. Hmmmm, hard decision.
But surely they contributed to a net increase in society's value and are simply being rewarded for making our lives so much better?!...

@averagejoe1 saidI don't have a problem with the rich making money, but I do have a problem when people like you language their obligation to pay their taxes as somehow punishing their success.

Just asking them to pay whats due and not game the system to such an extent that they pay less, not just in percentage terms, but sometimes less in absolute terms than their employees.

@kmax87 saidthat is the fault of politicians, not businessmen

@mott-the-hoople saidMany hot shot Dems say they naturally legally take advantage of loopholes. Tell us you would send in more than the law requires. Yes, talk to your congressman. Frankly I don’t understand it myself.

@kmax87 saidThe only monopoly I see is the government and besides gangs, organised crime, robbers and murderers they're the only ones that use force and threats of force to get what they want.
And when buying and selling are left unregulated, the monopolies that emerge will be adept at buying and selling the rights of the people.

@earl-of-trumps saidOkay you got me, so those that doubled their wealth, how much tax did they pay?
@kmax87 - "Just asking them to pay whats due and not game the system to such an extent that they pay less..."

So you learned they doubled their net worth, did you also learn how much they paid in taxes???
Something tells me you don't even care.

@averagejoe1 saidTrump taxed the poor and middling. Biden plans to tax the rich. Yah, I rather think that Biden is better.
Since Biden plans MORE taxes, I don't get your point. Biden better than Trump?. No, that can't be it. Tell us.
Still hoping for Alzheimer Ronnie's sweet, sweet trickle-down, aren't you, though?

@averagejoe1 saidYour goose is eating gold and laying piss-in-bottle eggs.
