You're the ideologue. You swallow everything Bush says hook, line and sinker. And you're paranoid. Where do you live - South Dakota, West Virginia? I am willing, here and now, to guaran-damn-tee you that no terrorist will ever blow up anything where you live. You live in America's armpit. No terrorist will ever blow up anything there. I promise.
well considering we have GOOD service men protecting us i do feel fairly safe but i would not feel safe in a government building where you live. Anti-government propagandist like yourself are dangerous. oh yea, go eagles!

Guess what? I go to a government building every day, in a major metropolitan city, and I feel fine.

That's what I'm talking about. You people are always under attack - whether it's from terrorists lurking in Bumfuck West Virginia or the devil, if you don't have an enemy you'll invent one.

You got your duct tape and plastic wrap ready, newdad?
So to you there is no threat of terrorism? Need I say more about your intellect? My point was the government buildings should be afraid of you. Sorry I thought you could read between the lines.

Bush Is saying that they do not torture, and they dont, but he wants an exeption for the CIA because maybe one day there may be a guy who knows when a nuke is set to go of, and that torture will be the only thing that gets him to tell us.
A veitnom vet was telling me that when he was over there, they would capture 2 people, take them up in a helicopter, t ...[text shortened]... you that they dont torture, but wants to keep the CIA exempt because someday it could save lives
That makes no sense. I'm sure that somewhere in the paranoid world of the far right wing your statement is perfectly logical, but d@mned if I see how.

Let me ask you this. If you were in a helicopter a thousand feet in the air with me, and the bad guys threw me out and then turned to you and said "talk, or you're going out the same door as wib", would you pretty much say anything to save your @ss?

I'll be glad to answer first. Yes. I would say absolutely anything.

Okay, I didn't really read most of this as it seemed to devolve into a theoritical arguement, but here are a couple of Bushwellian Double Speak examples for you:

TheClean Air Act which lowered pollution standards for the largest polluters.

The Citizens Financial Privacy Act which actually made it easier for the feds to gain access to your financial records.

Bush isnt double talking, hes just telling you that they dont torture, but wants to keep the CIA exempt because someday it could save lives
so if they gather info by torture should can they must act upon it?
should this information be allowed in a court?
if under pressure a tourtured soul gives the name of another possible terrorist - should that person be tortured too.
where will it end?

As was pointed out earlier, in extreme situations you can always break the law. A hypothetical one in a billion extreme situation in which torture might be for the greater good should not be the basis for legalizing it.

yep, and the list goes on

Calling anything in Iraq a "war against terrorism," and anything done under the so-called Patriot Act "protection of our way of life" take the cake, however.
