Why not explain to the folks why kennedy is on the cover? Perhaps you'll answer your own question.....

Thank God we have evolved from that kind of "My country, Right or Wrong" mentality. It still awes me that virtually NONE of those men stood up and said "Wait a second here, I'm supposed to put MY life on ...[text shortened]... or something in the water? Or was it mass suggestion under hypnosis? I just don't know.
You should thank your lucky stars there was a generation ahead of you that fought and won WWII. For all your prattling about freedom from duty, I wonder how long before you grew a backbone living under the jackboot and truncheon of real live Nazis?

Did I say anything to indicate that I would WANT to "grow a backbone" and fight "real live Nazis". You presume that I would join some sort of underground or rebellion against them? How presumptuous of you.😵

Let's see---to answer your questions:
Yes, I'm a liberal, and my butt belches on occasion, but rarely whines.

MY government doesn't exist--thre IS a government in Washington, but if you still believe it is of the people, by the people, and for the people, you're dreamin', son.

As for THE government or fellow citizens owing me something, no to the latter. However, when President Senile (Reagan) famously stated that "there is no unemployment problem in America" because every day when he reads the paper, there are plenty of job postings in the classified ads, he proved his stupidity. I DO believe that everyone (not just me), should NOT be expected to drive to Washington DC to get a job flipping burgers. We SHOULD be guaranteed employment in our sphere of influence (i.e. close to home). If that means I believe the government "owes me a living", then you betcha I do--not only a living, but one no more than 15 miles from my driveway.

Uh---dude, the Nazis weren't ON our doorstep. They were on Great Britain's and Moscow's doorsteps, but not ours.

You have heard of Lend Lease I assume? Without that and the industrial might of the United States, not to mention just a bit of aid from the US military, England would have fallen, either by direct invasion or being blockaded until they had to surrender due to starvation.

You might also want to check out the amount of Lend Lease the Russians received. And without a second front (which the murderous dictator Stalin demanded) the Germans and her allies would have been able to commit more resources to the Eastern Front, delaying the end to the war if not stopping the Russians completely

Next you'll be telling us the Marshall Plan was inconsequential as well

So say you. You'll forgive me if I don't take your opinion of how history would have turned out as Gospel truth.

Hmmmm you asked if I felt "the world or (the) government owed me anything." I answered you. You did NOT ask me a single question about the Constitution. When you do, I'll tell you all about it, Hon.
