That's a prime example of thinking like a backward country hick.
You think the only way to use H2 is to have a tank of compressed gas.
Try coming into the actual 21st century. We actually figured out something called the Metal Oxide framework where H2 is stored at near atmosphere pressure and enough to drive hundreds of miles but the big problem is just like gas cars a century ago, not much in the way of gas stations. H2 makes sense from several points of view like an H2 engine can be built almost exactly like a gas car, same kind of combustion but not quite as much power pound for pound but the exhaust is water vapor and some NO2 stuff. Not pure water but a lot closer than what comes out of gas cars. The infrastructure of H2 stations would be a lot like gas stations and your fear of H2 explosions would be greater there than in cars if they stick with just a huge underground pressure tank.
