@AThousandYoung
Although I think your source is wrong, I will not respond to that aspect.
It took years to dig out of the great depression but that surely happened.
Yet it has always been the case that the communist economic engine, because
of other facets of communist rule, forever destabilized the combines.
The people of North Korea have been nutritionally deprived for so long now,
that the North Korean people are 1 1/2" shorter than their SKorean counterparts.
And I must add that for many years, NK received massive
amounts of agricultural aid from many benevolent CAPITALIST nations.
Who.... is kidding... WHO?? Your people's combines can't grow enough food to
feed a bag of squirrels
😢
@earl-of-trumps saidApart from not being true .... that's very interesting.
@wolfgang59 You mean if they grew less food they would be more successful?
Yes. We live in a supply v demand world, in case you haven't noticed.
With less produce, the cost goes UP ==> successful, in the $$$ sense.
So the new economic plan for successful farming is to produce less?
@earl-of-trumps saidBut according to your economics the Cubans with low

@athousandyoung saidLink it. Prove to me "capitalism" is the reason people starved.
The Irish starved in the midst of plenty because capitalism.
It is clear that under capitalism, the Irish worked out of tough times.
The NKoreans and Cubans had good times until Communism and never worked
their way out of it.
Squirm,. try to get out of communism= SUCKS
@earl-of-trumps saidRead a history book.
Link it. Prove to me "capitalism" is the reason people starved.
From 1846, the impact of the blight was exacerbated by the
Whig government's economic policy of laissez-faire capitalism

That combined with a ridiculous monoculture (propelled by capitalism).
@wolfgang59 saidOh, I get it. the BLIGHT. But capitalism CAUSED it, right?

In North Korea and Cuba, there is no blight nor has there been one since goo goo Communsim took over.
So you and AThousandYoung don't have a link, right? Of course, not, because it isn't true.
Figures.
"troll troll troll your boat, gently down the stream"
@earl-of-trumps saidDon't deflect.
Oh, I get it. the BLIGHT. But capitalism CAUSED it, right?
You were questioning how capitalism caused the starvation in Ireland.
Remember that the potato blight was all over Europe.
@earl-of-trumps saidLumping Cuba into the same bucket as NK, careful, there may be people on this site who are simple minded enough to take you seriously.

@earl-of-trumps saidYour still not listening, your not producing more food your producing bigger and bigger producers who squeeze the smaller producer out of the market and become even bigger when they buy up their administered land.

It’s actually good for the consumer until you get to the point whereby a few mega producers can control the price you pay by turning production on or off. A bit like OPEC.

Sit back and take a deep breath......and close your eyes for a minute.
Now.......if Trump loses the 2020 election, America will not become a communist country !!
Again.......if Trump loses the 2020 election, America will not become a communist country !!
One more time......if Trump loses the 2020 election, America will not become a communist country !!
Ok, open your eyes now..... there, better ? 😛
@earl-of-trumps saidYeah the less people in cartel the harder it is to prove.
@kevcvs57
I believe the words you struggle for are - price fixing, and illegal.
The reverse is already happening over here with the big four or five grocery retailers squeezing down the price of dairy products to the point where dairy farmers are going bust.
It’s amazing the level of criminality and deceit you can conceal under the ‘free markets’ cloak of invisibility.
These cartels don’t have to be formal structures or engage in a conspiracy, they just have follow the leader when it comes the price they’ll pay for goods and the price they’ll charge the consumer when it comes to shelf prices.
@mghrn55 saidAnd this is a reason for me to hug the Democratic Party...? 🙄
