@kevcvs57 saidNow hold on.....I agree with what you are saying in this post. Boycotts are standard successful tool. I see no problem with that. We agree. I am curious why the ire this morning. Mine are simple facts. Must be that you see no touchy-feely, a lib trait, in my posting. If we went along with your touchy feely, the USA sink a little faster than it is now. I am the Alamo, you are Santa Anna!!
Any airline that does not accommodate disabled or over weight citizens should be boycotted by the public and the board of directors can crunch those numbers and see if it doesn’t make financial sense to be more inclusive.
Have you any idea of the trajectory for obesity in the west, and particularly in the US, I’m sure some entrepreneurs will see the profit margin in accommodating these people.
Go back to sleep and dream another fascist dream of exclusion Joe.
@averagejoe1 saidIt can be.
You want to include the fat in the category of infirmed?
The point is that there are different concepts of what is healthy and what is not.
Personally, I find many republicans I hear on TV or read on this forum, not fit to travel. They obviously have serious mental issues.
Do you think they should be banned from planes?
@shavixmir saidYou may have a valid issue, but your comment is quite broad. Someone's 'health' should be taken into consideration when they are sold a ticket? Give us an example,, maybe? I will start by saying 'no way' for fat people. Someone mentioned blindness a few clicks back. That might certainly qualify, but braille is not on airlines now. Ha, another cause for you libs.

As to mental issues, no two brains are alike. Sit Sonhouse next to me on a plane and see if there is an eruption which requires an air marshal. Would that qualify as a mental issue? He wasn't that way when he walked on the plane. How will you distinguish those people?
@averagejoe1 saidAirlines already provide wheelchairs for passengers who need them. While they might be allowed to charge for them, none do, as far as I know.

Giving fat people a second seat is a bit different because seats are a limited quantity, though I suppose number of wheelchairs in the airport are also limited.
A reasonable compromise (which is, I believe, what Southwest does) is making them buy a second seat, but issuing a refund if the plane is not full. That way, the airline is compensated if the second seat cost them revenue, but the customer doesn't pay for a disability-related service that didn't cost the airline anything of note.
Ultimately, though, people need to buy and pay for what they need. You can't adjust every service based on the needs of the consumer and expect the provider to not charge more. As a relatively short guy, I don't really need the extra legroom seats, but I'm not going to give up my extra legroom seat for a 6'3" fellow who didn't pay for it. That's the way life is. If, because of your circumstance, you need something extra, then you have to pay for it. Unlucky, perhaps, but them's the breaks.
Once you start tailoring everything for every person's needs, things become impossible.
@sh76 saidThankyou SH Maybe they will listen to you. No, on second thought, they won’t. I remember Shav said housing, should be a right, but never did tell me why, from whence does this right come. I see a lot of that on the forum. He never answered, he just made a stupid comment and quit.

@averagejoe1 saidThis is rich. The unabashed irony of it. And you toss something like this off on a nearly daily basis, to boot.
Do you libs ever read your posts, all the whining, ad hominems, queer points of view, out of the mainstream?
You whine literally all the time. You must have stock in facial tissue manufacturers. And you attack constantly, and express opinions largely not of this earth.
To address another post of yours in this thread: let us not use the word "hate." Let us just say that I find you despicable for the simple reason that you are, by every measure, truly despicable. You are a terrible person brimming with hate and bile.
@soothfast saidI'm not bad, I hope, for just asking you all to leave other people the hell alone. Every morning, news is all about what you are trying to change. Can you tell us something that you are changing that is really cool? I haven't seen it yet.

@averagejoe1 saidOh, good gracious....news flash this morning. NYC is banning use of Native American symbols and names from schools, mascots, etc. I hope y'all will not change the name of the Atlanta Braves. Or Florida Seminoles.

Jesus. Anyway, Joe is right again, it is like I said in above post. Will you change the name to The Faeries?
@AverageJoe1
There are a LOT of things I don't like about the modern world. Like:
- social media and all the rubbish content which gullible people lap up
- everything designed for the "me,me,me, look at me" generation and nothing for those of us who like order and simplicity and logical sequences
- people who think they're entitled to skive off whenever they want, even though the mug taxpayers have contributed to their expensive education and are willing to pay again for the services they're supposed to provide
- people who think anyone who is born with a different colour skin or in a poor country is not a human being
I could go on for hours, but my point is: the world belongs to the young, and they'll make it how they want to make it, and we oldies can just shut up and fade away. It's been the way of humanity for millennia. And "we oldies" includes everyone born in the 20th century.
@kewpie saidPeople who believe this:

"...people who think anyone who is born with a different colour skin or in a poor country is not a human being"
is a significant problem and extends beyond .00001% of the worlds population, in other words couple of nut jobs are exactly one of these people:

@kewpie saidLiberals tend to 'key off of' other people in forming their own lives, instead of just, well, forming their own lives. The mob mentality. Note that your first 3 points above exhibit that. I don't ever meet an 'independent ' liberal. Self reliance is rare, they seek the _______ of other people. (I dont think there is a name for it, or there are a lot of names).

If I put a landing strip at my farm (I don’t really have a farm) and establish 6 planes and sell tickets, at what point would I be required by some entity to include seats for fat people, which, of course would cut into my profits from my little flying business.?
