@Metal-Brain saidI asked you how a government can accumulate less debt by spending more money?
I told you. Like a counterfeiter. Government authorizes the Fed Reserve System to create money from nothing so government can spend it. That is how.
The result is inflation. We are paying for it in higher prices. What debt?
We have already been taxed with inflation. And that is not the only reason the FRS creates money out of nothing. What do you think quantitative ea ...[text shortened]... onsibility is a bipartisan effort. Stop pretending it is not. There is plenty of blame to go around.

That is not on the debt tally and your link is disinformation. It claims the 1.9 trillion covid relief package is on the debt tally and it is not. We were already taxed for the 1.9 trillion with inflation. That is why we are paying higher prices.
Your source lies.

@Metal-Brain saidThat's not at all what happened, though.

Biden is spending less. Probably he should have pushed to repeal trump tax cuts like motts article said.

@wildgrass saidProve Biden is spending less. Count spending, not debt.

@Metal-Brain saidIt's clear that his administration is not doing what you are saying they are doing.
Prove Biden is spending less. Count spending, not debt.
I have heard the proposal from some economists to start minting trillion dollar coins to cut debt, but he has not done that.
The budget proposals he's signed are for less money than the ones that trump signed. You can read that in the report. Obviously debt is about more than spending, but I would have a lot more respect for Trump's spending if he made any effort at all to attempt to pay for it.
Biden's administration is making that effort.

Debt is only part of spending. What spending was paid for with money supply increase?

@Metal-Brain saidYou can read the report. Biden admin seems to approve less spending and be more focused on debt reduction measures. Both are important.
Prove it.

@wildgrass saidYour source is BS. Find a credible source.

Increasing the money supply is not debt and all increase in the money supply is spending. Give me spending and debt. Simple subtraction will give us the spending from money supply increase.
@Metal-Brain saidNah the source is fine. It's one of the most respected independent watchdogs on both sides of the aisle.

Here's another article from the same group showing that trump only approved $500 billion in budget cuts compared to Bidens $1.5 trillion. Big difference. https://www.crfb.org/blogs/trump-and-biden-tax-and-spending-changes
Meanwhile you make wild assertions without any base point other than speculation.
Bidens administration has focused on deficit reduction. They have succeeded. It's an important issue for me as a voter and disheartening that conservatives don't care anymore.

@wildgrass saidBelieve what you want. You are going to do that anyway.

@Metal-Brain saidTwo roads diverged in a narrow wood. On one road, a nonpartisan group concludes you will accumulate twice the amount of debt as the other road. Which road do you pick?
Liars figure and figures lie. Believe what you want, you always do.
There are probably reasons to vote for trump, but debt reduction is not one them.
