Being American I think if we just nuke both places this solves all the world arguements about this.
I know this is just a stupid comment, but until people (both sides) really want peace and sit down and talk about it nothing going to happen.
I never thought I would see in my life time; Nelson Mandela walk free or East and West Germany reunite. Even in Northen Ireland they are now talking and not bombing. Maybe not enough! But they are at least talking.

True, but what is the solution? I mean, Israel and the Phalestines can't choose not to react to an attack.
In my view, the main thing Israel is doing wrong is OVER-reacting. The idea of 'proportionate response' seems to have disappeared as politicians try to outdo each other with promises about what they're going to do to smash Hamas or Hezbollah or whoever.
The recent fighting in Lebanon was a good example. Israel could easily have mounted an operation to rescue the captured soldiers that involved tracking down where they were and mounting an assault on a particular building or 'compound'. They have the military expertise to do that. That scenario might have killed 20 or 50 Hezbollah members at most.
But instead, what we got was widespread destruction, many more deaths, and a MUCH larger slice of the Lebanese population that have a reason to detest Israel. It's not only disproportionate, it's completely counter-productive.
