I wish politicians talked about military budgets in 10 year increments like they do for infrastructure legislation. It'd put these numbers to shame. Maybe then we'd realize how absurd it is.

We could take all the thousands of tanks we built that are rusting out somewhere in the desert and use them to house the homeless. At $6 million a piece they'd be the most expensive affordable housing units ever built, and they'd be infinitely more useful to us than what we currently use them for.
