Damnit! Leave people alone! If two people want to marry, let them!
Why do people wnat to legislate other people's rights when it doesn't affect them?
It is just like the men who attack abortion rights.

If you work in a restaurant you can no longer marry ketchup unless it is male ketchup and female ketchup. 🙁

Or non-smokers who attack smokers rights. (I'm agreeing with you here, Sarah of the Elven Eyes.)

How about the man who got the woman pregnant and wants the child. Doesn't he have any rights? It's his child also isn't it?

Seems like the real point of order here is what constitutes "affect".

I tend to agree that the marriage of two people does not affect me, whether they are heterosexual, bi or homosexual. But the conservatives suggest that allowing same sex marriage creates a precedent which may shape society in a harmful way, thereby affecting them and their children.

Non-smokers should have the right to an opinion on public smoking laws. The reason is obvious.

Sorry, DreamGirl, abortion isn't just a female issue (IMO :-) )

But why should non-smokers have any say in how private businesses are operated? No smoker ever tried to pass a law preventing anyone from operating a non-smoking bar, restaurant, bowling alley etc.

The owner of the establishment should have the say in whether its a smoking or non-smoking establishment.

Wait a second.

Maybe I have misunderstood the law, but I thought that they did!

Are you saying that a theater cannot have a 'smoking' screen?

I always thought that they simply chose not to have one because
the market is much smaller for smokers.

Most bars are frequented by smokers. The bottom line is why should i have some politician dictate whether my bar be smoking or non smoking. That should be the owners decision. If more non smokers patronize his bar then it would make more business sense for him to make it non smoking and vice a versa.
