The idea that homosexuality is nature's way of maintaining population control is nonsense. People have been gay as long as there have been people on this planet. The Greeks and Romans were nailing each other in their bungholes long ago when the Earth's population was 1/100th of what it is now.

So 6 billion people, or a few million people. No matter how many people are on the planet, there's gonna be gay folks gettin it on.

There is a difference between sleeping with men and ONLY sleeping with men. Sure, in every culture there are lots of people who experiment with the same sex(or would like to), but how many Romans refused entirely to sleep with women? Is this a higher or lower percentage than in the big cities of the western world today? We will porbably never know, but I think it is certainly possible that the modern percentage is higher.
