@vivify saidThat's actually 47.6%.
https://www.cdc.gov/nchs/nvss/vsrr/covid_weekly/index.htm#SexAndAge
285,687 people under age 40 have died from COVID, out of over 600,000.
So roughly 30% of COVID deaths are from people under 40.

@eladar saidDo you?
The virus is killing off those who are elderly and have weak immune systems.
What do you believe is the probability of death should a 35 year old get covid?
Total US covid deaths for people 35 to 44: 7 741
If each age group had the same number of deaths some grand total of 774people who were 35 were killed by COVID. Looks like Covid is not going to kill off many unvaccinated 35 year olds.
Do you care about facts?

@eladar saidI'd rather not rely on the Heritage Foundation's agenda-driven numbers, if you don't mind.
@Suzianne
You quoted the numbers, fewer than a thousand.
The ratios of deaths would not be much different than what is found here

@suzianne saidI said the numbers are lies.
Do the math.
It's actually only arithmetic, so you should be able to handle it. That is, if you weren't asleep in that class, like you were in science and history.
https://www.statista.com/statistics/1191568/reported-deaths-from-covid-by-age-us/
This accounts for 601 124 covid deaths, so fairly recent. Total deaths younger than 40 is 9881.
This represents 1.6 percent of total deaths.
@suzianne saidI was rounding 200,000 and 600,000. That was just laziness on my part. And even then, the actual number is 33 percent; I was underestimating since I wasn't sure what exactly that 600,000 figure was.
That's actually 47.6%.
285,687 out 628,152 = 45 percent.
Thanks for the correction. I should try to be more accurate in posts.
@eladar saidMy figure came from the CDC, and is the most updated figure:

U.S. COVID deaths:

628,152 COVID deaths. 45 percent of them are from people under 40 years old, using figures from the CDC.

@eladar saidYeah, you missed my edit. I didn't edit my post quickly enough.
Did checked the link, your numbers are wrong
Total covid deaths 340, 2493 and 7145. Those are the 3 age groups younger than 40.
Grand total 9978
You're right. I was looking at the wrong column. I looked at "deaths from all causes".
@vivify
I think that we can both agree that under 40 category makes up a very small part of covid deaths.
I would argue so small that covid is not a health threat to this age group.
COVID represents just 3.5 percent of total deaths for people under 40. It is not a significant cause of death within a category that as a whole has very few deaths.
