Do you say "Econ"? Or "Econs"?

If you take Economics in school, everyone says they are taking "Econ 101".

NOT "Econs 101", even though Economics ALSO ends with an S.

As I said, we improved on the crap usage of English by the English.
Nobody says econ 101.
Everyone says “economics”.

Econ 101 indeed! Never heard of it.

Nobody’s happy saying molybdenum.

And you pronounce aluminum differently than you spell it. It’s not rocket science.
